Davis College

“My name is Fei Fei Yen, and I am an international student from Taiwan. I chose to attend Davis College for three reasons. First, I wanted to build a strong academic and English-language foundation in preparation for pursuing graduate studies at a seminary in the future. Second, I hoped to develop deeper relationships with my professors and fellow students. Third, during my sophomore year at Word of Life Bible Institute, I received permission from the WOLBI President and the Huskies Athletic Director to pilot a basketball evangelism outreach. We organized four outreach events across two basketball games and prepared personalized gospel gift bags for both our own players and the opposing team. Our goal was to extend the impact of the gospel beyond the games, and the results were very encouraging. Because of the success of the pilot program, I was able to participate fully in the evangelism ministry during my junior year, serving at volleyball, soccer, and basketball games.

As a junior, I am double majoring in Christian Ministries and Biblical Counseling. This summer, I joined the Word of Life Island Camp Store as a volunteer to complete my Christian Ministries internship. A significant part of my ministry at Word of Life Island Camp is both prayer and hospitality. During Salvation Nights, while the speaker gives the gospel invitation and counselors share the gospel personally with campers, I devote myself to praying for each counselor and camper. Some of these teenagers are campers I have been praying for over the past two years, and it has been a joy to see God grow them spiritually as they return each summer with new friends. As a Camp Store volunteer, my teammates and I strive to create a welcoming place where campers feel loved, and counselors find encouragement. I also keep a notebook to record the names and prayer requests of campers and injured campers or counselors so I can pray for them each morning. Through prayer and simple acts of service, I have been able to build meaningful relationships, encourage others with Christ’s love, and witness God’s faithful work in their lives.”
