You Can Help These New Believers Who Lost Everything

Just one year ago, people living in two villages in Myanmar were completely unreached by the gospel—no one had heard of Jesus Christ. But a worker with an indigenous ministry shared the Good News with them, and 44 people from 11 families accepted Christ and began attending the ministry’s church.

Not everyone was happy with their decision to follow Christ.

Some of the women and children who accepted Christ were beaten by their husbands and fathers. Others, including widows, were disowned by their families and cast out of their homes. Multiple people were fired from their jobs.

“Some of their relatives threatened to harm or kill them,” the ministry leader said. “But they are so faithful to the Lord.”

The ministry built four huts near their church for believers who were cast out of their homes.

“We have been trying our best to take care of them,” the leader said. “These persecuted believers need encouragement through the Word as well as provision for their daily living. Though they are willing and ready to work any job, due to the turmoil and intense civil war, there are no jobs for them to earn money.”

Our goal is to provide each of these families with $140 per month or $1,680 per year for their basic needs. We’ve raised enough to cover the annual needs of more than four families but still need approximately $11,000 more to fully cover all 11 families.
