The Word of God holds immeasurable power, comfort, and formation for a believer. But in Africa, physical Bibles can be a rarity.

So when Here’s Life Africa received a surprise gift of 15,000 Bibles from Gateway Church in Southlake, TX, we were blown away!

Thanks to a handful of generous supporters who covered the cost of shipping, these Bibles just landed in Tanzania. See our team in the field rejoice at their arrival:

Singing songs of worship, these leaders knew the impact that 15,000 Bibles would have on congregations across East Africa. These Bibles will be distributed to 14,000 churches across three separate strategic networks who collectively represent 375,000 who attend these churches.  Here’s the breakdown:

4,000 to Tanzania Seminary of Life (1,000 Churches / 25,000 Congregants) 

4,000 to Uganda Seminary of Life (6,000 Churches / 150,000 Congregants)

7,000 to graduates of HLA’s 2-year Pastoral training program (7,000 Churches / 200,000 Congregants)

Total = 15,000 Bibles to 14,000 Churches / 375,000 Congregants
