Sometimes the best results start with painful experiences. Back in 1983, as a newly formed missions agency, Serge had just sent its first overseas workers to the field.
But in short order, we got into a fight so aggressive that we shocked the very people we went to reach! What happened next was more shocking for them. The missionaries asked forgiveness from one another and repented of their anger.
In that crucible of brokenness, our founder, Jack Miller, came to a startling conclusion – you can’t take the gospel to others unless you take it continually to yourself.
With that belief in mind, Serge started discipleship material to help missionaries and ministry leaders stay rooted in their identity as children of God.
Almost 40 years later, we still use Sonship, our one-on-one mentoring program with all our missionaries because we know our need for renewal.
