MAF brought help, hope, and spiritual healing

In Papua, Indonesia, MAF recently flew second-generation missionary John Cutts to the village of Pogapa to deliver 50 solar-powered audio Bibles (seen at right). These Bibles allow the community to hear the New Testament in their own language, regardless of literacy level. Praise God that MAF pilot Dave Ringenberg was able to safely land despite frequent closures due to security concerns at this location.

MAF pilot Jeremy Toews also writes about a medical missions trip in Kalimantan, Indonesia:

In mid-August, our family had the privilege of serving with MAF and with our local church, GKII Siloam Tarakan, on our annual medical mission trip. We served the communities of Long Metun and Sungai Anai by flying a team of doctors and nurses, medicine, and a pastoral care team. The nearest airstrip is Data Dian, which is still about a two-hour journey from Sungai Anai by canoe and 4×4. The alternative route would have been a month-long, one-way journey by boat and 4×4. About 80 patients received both medical and pastoral care. We also surveyed a nearby site for an airstrip to serve these communities in the future. We were immensely blessed by the local people, who received us like family into their homes. We look forward to supporting the communities as they work to complete this airstrip.
