Jesus has never left the Middle East

We are receiving very good news of church multiplication from Syria, from Libya, from Egypt, and from the Arabian Peninsula. At the same time, believers across this region are living under great tension, and we urgently need your prayers.

In Syria, the church is multiplying despite persecution. A new president – formerly part of ISIS – is in power, and he has begun persecuting Christians. In just the past few months, some of our brothers and sisters have given their lives for the cause of Christ. Please pray for strength and protection as the Gospel continues to advance.

In Lebanon, tensions are once again rising between Christians, Shia Muslims, and Sunni Muslims. Yet in the midst of instability, the church is growing and faithfully sharing the good news of Jesus. Pray for peace and for the continued multiplication of disciples there.

In the Arabian Peninsula, small groups of Muslim-background believers are courageously forming house churches in very restrictive environments. These believers are learning how to multiply themselves and are gathering wherever possible to encourage one another. Pray for boldness, wisdom, and provision for these communities.

In Egypt, the church is now serving as many as nine million Sudanese refugees who have fled across the border. Many are Christians, but most are Muslims who are encountering the Gospel in a fresh way. Pray that the church would be strengthened as it carries this enormous burden and embraces this tremendous opportunity for witness.

And in Morocco, house churches are scattered across the country, often facing intense opposition. Our prayer is that God would raise up a multiplying movement of disciples and give believers the courage to live and share their faith in the face of persecution.

These are days of both great opportunity and great challenge. But even in the midst of conflict, instability, and persecution, we know this: Jesus has never left the Middle East. He is here, and He is doing wonderful things.

Thank you for lifting up your brothers and sisters in this region. Your prayers are a vital lifeline for believers who risk everything to follow Jesus.
