Fabiana, 44, is a mother of two who was raised in a Christian home but drifted from her faith, ultimately using her professional skills to commit crimes that led to her incarceration at the Feira de Santana Correctional Complex in Bahia. In her own words, she arrived in prison consumed by “fear, shame, and lost all hope.” That changed when a correctional officer named Alexandra introduced her to the Encounter with the Word course, coordinated locally by Pastor Samuel of the Central Baptist Church.

Through the course — made possible by this partnership — Fabiana encountered God’s forgiveness, and on August 30, 2025, she was baptized inside the prison unit. “Today, although I am still physically imprisoned, I feel spiritually free,” she wrote. “Today I have peace! Today I live in peace! Today I have Jesus, the true joy, the only way and the solution to my problems!” She closed her testimony thanking AMECAP for the Bible she received: “It is very rich in studies for inmates. Thank you very much from the bottom of my heart!”

Fabiana’s story is one of thousands like it now unfolding across 336 Brazilian prisons — proof that the gospel, delivered page by page and Bible by Bible, is reaching into the hardest places and producing freedom that no cell can contain.
