IDP project – missionary Oleg Lar’kov, Kyiv
Testimony of Liudmyla Petrenko. She is 68 years old and she lives in Kyiv.
Liudmyla is a widow. She has a daughter who is 43 years old. She also has two grandchildren, aged 10 and 6. But Liudmyla is very lonely because her relationship with her daughter is very difficult. She doesn’t like to talk about it, but we can see how she suffers from her bad relationship with her daughter. We are happy to see that she has made friends with women at the church and comes to church, and our church has now become her family.
Liudmyla came to church for the food aid. Over time, she cautiously began attending Sunday services. Later, she asked if she could join a Bible study group and later she brought her neighbor Tanya (we have written about this woman before) to church with her.
Since September last year, Liudmyla has been attending a group on the “Fundamentals of the Christian Faith” and has been very diligent in doing her homework for these lessons. Her heart began to open up to God and become more attached to the church. She repented and then began preparing for baptism, and in June this year, Liudmyla made her covenant with the Lord.
Praise God for saving her life in Him! She happily continues to attend Bible study groups and a prayer group, and has joined the serving team in the kitchen. We pray with her for her to have peace with her daughter and her family.
We are sincerely grateful to every brother and sister who is helping us, lifting up their sincere prayers, and donating financial support. Without you, we would not be able to reach so many people, because most of them come to the church simply for food out of their need, and no one thinks about or even seeks the Living God. But He Himself reaches out to them, He knocks on their hearts and calls them to Himself through the food aid.
