Through your generous support of The Alliance Willow Refugee Church Planting & Training project,
you are sustaining educational, training, and outreach initiatives to spearhead the formation of a
new national church within a refugee community victimized by persecution and long denied
gospel access. We hope to encourage you through some of the gospel-advancing work you are
making possible in North Africa:
- Because of you, 62 students are entering a new school and hands-on ministry training
programs in radio outreach, social media outreach, children’s ministry, music ministry,
film evangelism, and many other avenues of leadership development. - Newcomers from the refugee community continue to attend 11 underground house
churches and are hearing the Gospel of John taught and learning the Bible in overview
with the visuals taught by project leaders. It is only with much courage—and after much
deliberation—that members of this community choose to follow Jesus or even attend
church. New believers may be refused an inheritance, disowned by family members, or
even have their wives and children taken from them. - Recently, members of the refugee group served by this project gathered for a celebration
of their sociolinguistic identity and heritage. Most from this community still have never
read or heard the Bible in their native language. Alliance workers seized the opportunity
to distribute six cartons of books, including 102 Bible stories, translated into the refugee
community’s native language. There are reports of new language centers opening in the
region to increase literacy rates among the people we serve.
Praise God for the gospel impact you are making on this hurting, vulnerable, and
displaced community!
