A Simple Life. A Powerful Call.

Chakra didn’t set out to plant churches. He just needed to feed his family.

Like many in rural Cambodia, he had lived through years of war and loss. With only a 2nd-grade education and no steady job, he started selling coconut ice cream to children in nearby villages.

One Sunday, he noticed a large crowd of kids gathered at a “Jesus meeting.” The children were laughing, singing—and buying lots of ice cream. Intrigued, Chakra kept coming back. Week after week, something about their joy drew him in.

Eventually, one of the local pastors asked if he wanted to know Jesus. Chakra said yes.

And everything changed.

His wife, Davi, was skeptical. But she watched her husband become a gentler, more compassionate man. She began to wonder if there really was something different about this Jesus.

Over time, she came to faith as well—and though she had never learned to read, she taught herself using the Bible. Now, she reads it for hours every day.

Today, Chakra and Davi have planted three churches, baptized dozens of new believers, and are being trained through Antioch Institute, a local program equipping grassroots leaders across Cambodia.Their story is just one glimpse of what God is doing in hard-to-reach places.
