The Gift of True Freedom
WOW ~ It’s hard to believe it’s July!
Summer is here, bringing opportunities to slow down, enjoy time with family and friends, and appreciate the beauty of God’s creation. Each year, my husband and I look forward to watching, Salute from the Shore, when military planes, past and present, fly along the coast to pay tribute to those who have sacrificed for our freedoms. It is an especially meaningful moment as people line the shoreline waving American flags, offering a simple but powerful “thank you” to honor the men and women who have served our country.
This July 4th also marks 250 years of our nation’s history. We will take time to reflect on our nation’s heritage and the sacrifices made by each generation before us to preserve our independence. As we celebrate this season, we are reminded not only of the blessings of our nation’s freedom, but also of an even greater freedom; one that cannot be granted by a government or taken away by circumstances. Through Jesus Christ, we are offered true freedom. As the Apostle Paul writes in Galatians, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.” This freedom transforms hearts and renews lives.
As we gather and reflect on the blessings we enjoy, may we also pause to give thanks for a freedom that goes deeper than anything earthly, a freedom that is eternal, unshakable, and only found in Christ.
We are grateful for your partnership in this mission, as together we share the promise of true freedom in Christ to a world in need of His hope and grace.
