“I met Jesus Christ in a Christian high school run by missionaries in Cartagena, Colombia. I came from a very humble family, my mother was a housewife, my father a driver. Gratefully, the school was free. Even though I learned a lot about the Word of God at school, I did not have an understanding of my relationship with Jesus; I was not taught the basics of being a disciple and I gradually drifted away from God as an adult.
Many years later, after being married and having children, God pulled me back into a relationship with Him. I started to attend Árbol de Vida, a partner church with Impact Latin America. I grew closer to the Lord and was even baptized. I started to volunteer with the church’s evangelism team and it was at that time I realized I needed more Biblical training to fully understand scripture and my faith.

Fortunately, I was given the opportunity to participate in an IMPACT ministerial formation cohort offered online. The teachers are well prepared; the classes are enjoyable. I continue to participate in the series of trainings at my own pace and have flexibility with my mentor. With the mentoring and theological study, I learned what it means to have a true fear of God and to identify things that do not please Him. God has answered my desire to deepen in my faith. Now I am a mentor at my church providing discipleship for newer believers. It is a great privilege and blessing from God. What I have learned from IMPACT’s Ministerial Formation team allows me to better serve my family as they struggle with their faith and contribute to the formation of new disciples and leaders in my community. “
Whether an individual is a new believer participating in our two year discipleship program or a House of Peace leader, church planter, network coordinator, or regional mentor, IMPACT offers intelligently designed material paired with purposeful mentoring in place to deepen their spiritual maturity, build skills, and enhance theological understanding.
