Church Planting

I recently returned from Nepal and am heading to Kenya in ten days. I wanted to update you on the two new church plants the Bolick foundation is heavily involved in.

Nepal is one of the poorest countries in the world. Most people live below the poverty line making $1.00 a day. Though Nepal has made progress over the last fifty years since it was an isolated Kingdom there is still intense caste discrimination and persecution.

In the picture below we have been able to dedicate two churches this past trip. While visiting I was overwhelmed many times by the Pastors gratefulness to be involved in church planting in the midst of opposition by the Hindu radicals.

As I was fellowshipping during a break at the Pastors conference I was reminded by God how much I have to be thankful for. All of them were filled with joy to be serving the Lord. Earlier that day I had been moaning to God about the long flt, food, and accomodations. I had to repent on the spot and I asked the Lord to give me the same joy and peace they have in serving HIm. In the picture below you can see us praying for the Pastor in the new community. The church is only one year old and already has over 100 members.

In Vietnam there is also persecution. The Pastor grew up in a traditional animistic family. He became very ill and went to every shamon that he could to get healthy spending all his money. He heard about Jesus from a traveling evangelist and God completely healed him. He went to bible school and started telling others about Jesus. In this area there are 200 families with no Christian witness and very much in the same condition he was in. Today by God’s grace a church is planted and lives are being transformed by the Gospel .

I can’t tell you how grateful we are for the Bolick foundation. On behalf of our brothers and sisters in Nepal and Vietnam, thank you for loving others and joining us in our commitment to share the good news to those who do not know Christ.
