Steiger’s Houston Impact Day brought 70 young adults together for a powerful time of prayer, worship, training, and evangelistic action.
Using simple creative tools, they sparked spiritual conversations and shared Jesus with young people on the streets of their own city – many for the first time ever!
God continues to use this life-changing event to inspire actions in the lives of the participants like Nonyem that have gone far beyond the walls of the church.
Steiger Missions School graduate Nonyem was eager to bring the Steiger Impact Day back to her home church in Houston. She wanted to see more believers taking to the streets to share the Gospel in her own city.
After the training day was over and the Steiger leaders returned home, Nonyem organized a group on her own to go into the club scene for creative evangelism. They were encouraged and energized by the way God worked through them to start spiritual conversations and begin to build discipleship relationships!
Not long after, Nonyem attended a conference for her work in IT. She was looking to switch jobs and hoping that networking at this venue would provide a path to do so.
At the conference, Nonyem started talking with a man who worked for the company that she wanted to join. The conversation reached a fork where she realized she had the opportunity to take it to a spiritual level, or keep it work-focused.
She knew that taking the leap to a spiritual conversation meant risking the job opportunity, but felt God prompting her as it unfolded. “Even if I risked the job, I couldn’t keep myself from speaking about Jesus,” she shared. She went on to share a powerful spiritual and Gospel conversation with him. “God can provide a job for me,” she explained, “but I can’t stay silent and not share the Gospel!”
