Touched by Jesus

Jeeth and a South Indian team of Christian medical professionals visited one of the local pastor’s remote villages after hearing the tragic news that three of the children attending God for Nation’s after-school program had suddenly died.

The results from the intensive two-day clinic were grim, uncovering the root cause of malnutrition. The children were dying from common and preventable diseases exacerbated by little nutrition and starvation.

You prayed for an 11-year-old boy named Vijay, who had not eaten anything for three days, as well as for a 10-month-old who was near death because all her mother could feed her were two-cent sugar cookies and unclean water. You faithfully joined us in prayer about starting a nutritional program in a country where more than 4,000 children die from malnutrition every day. And God has honored your prayers and generous hearts.

This week, Jeeth, Ezra, and I will be leaving for a month-long trip to India to help finalize and prepare for launching the first (but certainly not last) nutritional program in North India in a village where lack of food is a chronic and generational issue.

We cannot wait to update you on how your prayers and generosity have transformed 150 children’s lives by providing them with nutritious food, clean drinking water, and the opportunity to be touched by Jesus’s love.
