Global Church Movements (GCM) exists to establish one church for every 1,000 people worldwide — healthy churches committed to loving God and one another and helping to fulfill the Great Commission. With your help, GCM is planting churches of multiplying disciples in rural villages, suburban neighborhoods, urban highrises and relational networks.
Recently, the principal of the South Pacific Bible College in Suva, Fiji, invited the Australian GCM team to train his students. The principal had met Christ and grown with the help of our movement’s staff members at university. Now his own students are pastors and church leaders completing their studies before many return to their home islands.
The Australian GCM team facilitated a week-long MyFriends training for the 64 Bible college students. MyFriends helps Christians develop a more intentional lifestyle to connect people to Jesus. Pastors learn how to prioritize making disciples who make disciples in their churches.
As part of the training, the participants were introduced to a simple gospel presentation called “The Four.” With incredible excitement, they went out to highland villages and other parts of Fiji to apply what they had learned. The Australian team felt privileged to work with men and women so passionate about building the church.
At week’s end, the team charged the students to call their congregations to live as people sent, just as Jesus was, to those around them. Prayerfully, the investment of the training in the lives of these leaders will have far-reaching spiritual significance throughout the South Pacific. Pray for these men and women as they restructure their existing churches to prioritize multiplication of new groups and churches — raising up disciples to lead the next generation.
