SOUL CARE

Lately, I hear friends talking about self-care; are you hearing the same? Self-care is defined as anything you do to take care of yourself so you can stay physically, mentally, and emotionally well. Interestingly, I found one indicator of the trend on Google; searches on self-care have quadrupled since 2018, which may be hinting we are surrounded by an epidemic of anxiety and uneasiness.

Maybe we should be practicing soul care as well.  Not to substitute soul care for self-care; however, I believe we need both. Jesus practiced self-care by resting, praying, meditating, reflecting, and being thankful. Practicing soul care is a way to connect and nurture your inner self by being mindful and developing meaningful lives. Soul care is about stewarding everything God gives us for enrichment and spiritual wholeness.

Self-care and soul care provide opportunities to better ourselves and reset our spiritual direction. I hope you can find time to reset.  Take good care!
