WHERE IS YOUR SAFE SPACE?
My beautiful granddaughter, Charlotte, recently turned four. Yes, she is a fantastic 4! She has always been quiet and shy and just now beginning to find her words and personality. There is, however, one dear friend, Cate, who provides a safe space for Charlotte. When around Cate, you see Charlotte’s true self…her confidence and her spirit bursting like a gift waiting to be unwrapped. Charlotte laughs, talks, dances, twirls, and expresses a full realm of emotions. She blossoms!
Where is your safe space? That space where you can be completely yourself. A space free of judging and discrimination. A space where you can unapologetically be you and those around you still love you for who you are.
Just as Charlotte trusts Cate, finding our safe space often evolves first in finding trust. Our God knows each of us and meets us where we are. He is our refuge. As we seek a place of protection and sanctuary, may we allow God in to offer a safe space in our soul so that we may blossom through His spirit! Place your trust in Him.
