Trusting God

Following Christ often brings with it persecution to believers in countries like Iran. Bita’s story, which was shared on SAT-7 PARS, illustrates the courage it takes to live out one’s faith and how the Lord can use someone’s life in a powerful way.

God placed the desire on Bita’s heart to start an institute for children with disabilities, which she named the “House of Kindness.” She saw God miraculously provide and intercede for them over 13 years of ministry. But one morning, her home was raided and she was arrested as officers seized the children’s center.

Bita shares, “I was questioned about where I had gotten all the money from, and I was accused [on the basis] of my Christian faith.”

Bita encountered some difficulties while in prison, yet she desired to serve in her wing of the prison, which was home to mothers who had children under the age of three. She was able to help provide for the children as well as the mothers. She says, “God gave me strength and did great work there.”

She was released from prison one year later, something she describes as being “miraculous.” When asked what advice she would give to other Christian women suffering persecution, she said, “We should trust the Lord. It is in hard situations that ‘trusting God’ has meaning.”
