Start with the Children

IMPACT recently put this principle to work in Durazno, Uruguay.  Through IMPACT’s Disciples Making Disciples training, people in a local church were trained to share their faith with others.  Older children were included in the training
and multigenerational teams began to pray and reach into their communities in five different neighborhoods.   Over time, the outreaches became weekly gatherings. Neighborhood children especially attended the activities.  They welcomed the sports, games, snacks, and discipleship.
Now there are more than 100 children, ages 4-11, meeting every Saturday between the five locations.  Youth and young adults coordinate the activities and provide discipleship; older adults follow up with their parents.   As a result of this consistent outreach, thriving Houses of Peace (house churches) were established in each of the five neighborhoods.  An average of 200 adults and children currently attend.  The Lord is transforming their lives as the peace of God is planted in their hearts.    By God’s grace IMPACT is seeing this kind of thing happen in community after community, country after country, all over Latin America.

Impact Latin America is a faithful partner of The Bolick Foundation.
