The Sermon on the Mount
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you …” (Matthew 5:44 NKJV)
James said the words pierced his heart so much that he watched the clip over and over—hundreds of times (he claimed!). And each time he watched it, he felt God was speaking directly to him.
A Powerful Dream
James became hungry for answers, so he asked “What do these words mean? Why do they have so much power? Who is this Jesus?” Then he had a vivid dream. He saw himself driving a white bus toward a place called “Capernaum”—a name he had never heard before. The dream gripped him. In his search for answers, he visited a church in his area that gave him a Bible. As he read the Gospels, he was astounded. There it was, the name “Capernaum,” where Jesus started his ministry.
That dream confirmed God was truly speaking to him. He believed and was made new in Christ. James joined a discipleship group, learned the foundations of the Christian faith, surrendered his life to Jesus and was baptized.
Today, James and his wife lead a house church where many gather weekly to hear God’s Word. The staff member who sent this report added, “When we met recently, he asked for a projector to show the ‘JESUS’ film—the same tool God used to change his life, which he now wants to use to reach others.”
