Laos — A Church Protected by God’s Hand

In a small Communist village in Laos lived Hannah, a devoted woman of God who had once practiced witchcraft. Her involvement in the occult left her physically weak and tormented by spiritual attacks. Desperate for healing, she sought the village shaman, but nothing changed. Then a pastor arrived, preaching the Gospel. Hannah immediately believed, and within a week, she was completely healed. Her miraculous recovery drew many others to Christ. Soon after, government officials raided her home during a church service, demanding the believers renounce their faith. As they were humiliated before the village, a branch laden with coconuts suddenly fell and struck the officials. One of them also later suffered a serious motorcycle accident. Fear gripped them, and they withdrew—leaving Hannah and her fellow believers in peace. Today, the village church continues to thrive, a testimony to God’s protection and power.

These believers hold fast to Psalm 46:1: “God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”
