Every Home for Christ completed a project in Mexico titled “Love Your Neighbor, Light Your World: A Multifaceted Outreach Strategy in Mexico.” This project featured two primary components: sustaining three months of traditional outreach in Mexico and distributing 5,400 Love Your Neighbor kits—Every Home’s revolutionary new Church-mobilization resource. The project was projected to train and equip 76,800 believers to share the love of Jesus and reach approximately 7,070,400 people with the gospel.
By providing churches with outreach and discipleship materials uniquely suited to their contexts, including Love Your Neighbor kits, Every Home, and the Bolick Foundation, successfully fueled outreaches to neighborhoods, public places (like parks), addiction rehabilitation centers, prisons, and hospitals.
As part of Every Home’s standard reporting and measurement processes, we collect stories illustrating the impact of ministry in each of the 168 countries around the world with an active Every Home ministry presence. Over the grant period for this project, Every Home Mexico submitted dozens of testimonies. The following serve as a representative sample of the thousands of lives touched with Christ’s love through this project.
“My name is Liliana, and in prayer, we asked God to guide us in sharing the message of salvation. Thus, God opened doors and carried us to three rehabilitation centers, within which there are people suffering from the consequences of drug or alcohol addictions. We started sharing the gospel twice weekly in each center, but we needed discipleship material. A brother from Guanajuato, who also works in rehabilitation centers, gave me the details of Mexico EHC, which offered us discipleship courses and tracts for evangelism. I was very interested in the discipleships because those were what we needed. We started to use the “How to Pray” course in the three rehabilitation centers. Jose, 28 years old, says ‘Thank you for this course because now I know that, even though I am a sinner, I can talk to Him who is up high, through prayer, telling Him my problems and needs. My prayers are answered.’ Pedro, 30 years old, ‘Thank you because I learned to talk with God. Throughout my life, I only repeated specific prayers. I now speak to the boss, who is God. He has become my savior and friend.”
Pastor Miguel Reyes of the Missionary Ministry recommended that we contact Mexico EHC to obtain help with tracts and evangelism projects for the church.
Thank God there were 60 pastors in attendance from various denominations, and there was great interest in the Love Your Neighbor project. As pastors, we believe this project is ideal for church growth. It is excellent material that we believe comes from God, helping churches become active in evangelism and fulfill the great commission commanded by our Lord Jesus Christ.
