Mission Aviation Fellowship (MAF) conducts unexpected flights year-round in some of the world’s most isolated communities. Your generosity allows us to plan ahead, having enough fuel for our pilots to use whenever necessary—ensuring they never have to say no due to a lack of resources. For John Loker, a pilot/mechanic serving in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the assurance of having enough fuel brought some peace during a stressful time.

“In early 2025, the area of DRC where we had been living began experiencing conflict, leading MAF to consider evacuating our team into neighboring Uganda.
Because our planes are the primary means for other mission organizations to evacuate, MAF tries to relocate early enough so we have enough time to fly everyone to safety. This, coupled with complex and unclear security information, makes the choice of if and when to evacuate extremely difficult—the responsibility is heavy. MAF made the call, and shortly after, other organizations began to follow suit. We spent four long days—totaling 20 hours in the air—evacuating more than 100 missionaries and their families.”
