CHECK, CHECK, CHECK
Are you one of those people who lives for the checklist? (Be honest!) I sure am. There’s something strangely satisfying about writing down a task just so you can cross it off. Sort the laundry? ✔️ Fold laundry? ✔️ Put it away? ✔️
There’s a little rush that comes with every box checked. It feels like progress, like order in a chaotic world. And while checklists are great for chores, grocery runs, and packing for vacation, they don’t quite work the same way when it comes to our faith.
Sometimes, we can slip into “spiritual checklist” mode. Sunday School? ✔️ Church? ✔️ Tithe? ✔️ We check the boxes, and it feels like we’re doing all the right things —and yes, those things are good and important; however, are we going through the motions without letting them move our heart?
Jesus didn’t call us to a life of checked boxes. He called us to follow Him—to serve others, to love, to forgive, and to live purposefully and with compassion. There’s no magic formula or perfect checklist for being a Christian—but there is a perfect example. Let’s follow Him, not just with our time, but with our hearts.
