REEL THEM IN!
| High Rock Lake was a favorite fishing spot for my dad. He spent many weekends there and our family often enjoyed the fish he caught. I remember going fishing with him once; we spent more time waiting than actually reeling in fish! The Bible tells us that seven of the twelve disciples were fishermen by trade. Jesus sent them out to fish for people and bring them to Christ. Do you ever wonder why He chose fishermen? Could it be that fishermen are persistent; they show up time after time regardless of the outcome? Fishermen have patience (lots of patience!). They are observant and mindful of their surroundings and know just when to reel it in. Persistence, patience, and mindfulness align with the qualities needed for spreading a message as profound as the one Jesus shared. These traits not only made them effective in their trade but also equipped them to become unwavering and observant messengers of faith.
